There are certain pieces that are just so good in one’s closet, they’re put on heavy rotation. Worn multiple ways, they can either be the core pieces, or in this case, the accessories that pull an outfit together and can be universally styled with a cohesive wardrobe. They allow that freeing sensation of not needing to shop for anything else because they are simply that loved.

Sézane is a French brand that I’ve shopped from for several years and now make up more than half the pieces in my closet. From quality and classic knitwear, feminine blouses and dresses, staple bottoms, handbags, and shoes, they are always my first choice when shopping for an item. Their selections are timeless and of the upmost craftsmanship, in addition to being a sustainable company. I must admit, with each season’s new collection (albeit it consists of many similar styles from season’s past, with a twist), showing restraint has proven difficult.

This last year, I purchased two items that I wear multiple times a week. It’s the Axelle boots in glossy chocolate, with a matching Artemis belt. The boots are the perfect heel height, durable in the rainy PNW, fit beautifully with denim, slacks, skirts, and dresses and most importantly, are so, so comfortable. (And this is coming from someone who struggles to find footwear that I can actually deem comfortable.) Did I mention the color is chefs kiss and goes with every single outfit I’ve put together? When I made the purchase, I added the belt to the order, knowing how loved it would be, especially since I own multiple of that style and wear them constantly. Additionally, the color was the same as the Axelle boots, so I knew they would be a perfect pair.

Wearing these two pieces make my outfits look polished, thoughtful, and harmonious, which leaves me stepping out of the house with a little extra confidence. And confidence is arguably the most important accessory a woman can own.

Sizing: I wear my normal size in the boots. I am generally a size 4/36 in Sézane bottoms and wear a size 90 in the belt. I could size down to an 80, which fits better when worn higher on the waist, but I prefer this size when worn at my waist.
